I was born 16 February 1946 in the Naval Hospital Portsmouth, Virginia. I am no longer married and never had any children. My passions are Politics, History and Music. My favorite music in the world is Vallenato. My real name is Patricio Bridges but in the Hispanic world I am Patricio Puentes. My grandmother came from Pinar del Rio around the year of 1912. I'm proud of my Cuban roots and I love Cuba very much the only thing stopping me from living there now are the Communists. I dream of retiring to Pinar del Rio but would only do so in a free Cuba.
I am a former member of the Cuban Club "Club Cubano" in Philadelphia, PA. and I lived in Little Havana in 1965 at the Bayview Hotel and did volunteer work for Alpha 66 mostly stuffing envelopes and doing errands. I wanted to join up with a more radical organization but my Spanish was not good enough at the time, but I tried.
I first became interested in the Free Cuba movement after meeting Major Pedro Diaz Lanz, former Commander in Chief of the Cuban Air Force, after a speech he gave at the YMCA in Chester, Pennsylvania in the spring of 1965.

Pedro Luis Diaz Lanz

The first
demonstration I ever participated in was at the Torch of
Friendship in Miami
Florida the summer of 1965. It was an anti-Castro affair and what
made it special was
someone shut the flame off during our demonstration to symbolize
the torch of freedom
was off in Cuba. I held a sign which read "No Retreat!"
The press was there and I'm
pretty sure my picture was taken in some of the photos. At that
time I was living in
Little Havana at the Bayview hotel, they used to call me the
"Baby of Bayview" because
I was the youngest person living there...I was 19 years old.
